Embedded Hand Recognition System

This project was my university's senior design project. I worked on this project for almost a year with great results and an incredible learning experience. I redesigned an Embedded Linear Hand Recognition System developed by a colleague from El Salvador, Erick Mejia. The system utilizes two Biometric algorithms to successfully recognize individuals by their hand dimensions.  This project was implemented with a Basic Stamp II microcontroller, a Philips 83C752 8-bit microcontroller, a 2048 pixel linear CCD Sensor, LCD Display and a Keypad.

The host software was coded on Visual Basic 6.0 with an ODBC connection to a Microsoft Access Database.  Below you will find some more in-depth technical information about this project.  You can view the technical report, the actual microcontroller program (80C51 assembly), and the HTML manual we developed.
