Coldfusion Applications Manager

Manage and design all web based development projects for Sandals & Beaches Resorts. Responsibilities include project management, resource allocations, application/database design, application/database documentation, software design processes, deployment architecture design and implementation, test cases, and coding. I also help manage our web Oracle server databases and all web servers in our clustered environment.

• Technologies: ColdFusion, XML, Web Services, Java, Oracle, MS SQL, Flash, IIS, Windows 2000 Server, Redhat Enterprise Linux, IBM AIX 5.3, JRun, J2EE, Unix Scripting, CVS, AJAX.


• Created all system development and documentation guidelines for the web applications team. 


• Creation of a standardized ColdFusion development MVC framework; Textus. This framework is now used in all web applications and it has become the backbone of all high availability and mission critical applications.


• Creation of the Sandals Source Code Replication System using the following technologies: RSYNC, Bourne Shell Scripting, ColdFusion and Flash. This has eliminated the overpriced cost of buying a replication system.  All web developers use this system to publish their code to any or all of our production servers.

   


• Designed and developed the Hotel & Airline Consumer and Travel Agent Booking Engines for Sandals, Beaches and Royal Plantation resorts that bring over 11 million dollars in revenue per month. It is a high availability and mission critical application with several integrated ColdFusion, Java, XML and internal Oracle applications. The main core is built on multithreaded java applications that feed availability to the ColdFusion application.

   


• Designer of the Sandals Event & Spa Booking engine that provides the sale of spas, dinners, and tours online.  It is based on the hotel and airline booking engine’s architecture and it implements the Textus ColdFusion Framework. Design of the booking engine’s manager applications that are available to all 17 resorts around the world with numerous capabilities for setting up real-time availability, inventory, pricing and booking confirmations.

   


• Designed and developed the Sandals Email Tracking System that is used for all incoming and outgoing Sandals-client communications. It has eliminated the use of all email clients for the customer service department, and has improved archiving and tracking due to the usage of a centralized database. It includes a response knowledge base where the operators can pick and choose responses, which has eliminated the use of thousands of sticky notes.

 


• Designed and developed the Sandals Complaint Tracking System, an extensive project encompassing all the resorts around the world to use one single central system and repository. This system has eliminated the use of paper and cross-world couriers due to the digitizing of documents into Oracle. .Thus, saving time, money, and it has more than tripled the department's productivity and service


• Designed and developed the Sandals Web Applications Intranet. This centralized system encompasses all managers and applications into one single shell. It implements dynamic security policies and dynamic application shell creations. One security credential that gives you access to your applications.


• Integrations to various GDS' systems.
