Apart from Trac which is an excellent bugtracker for open source projects. How about for closed projects? Anybody have any recommendations? It should be able to create several projects and keep track of bugs and issues. Anybody have any recommendations?

Why wouldn't Trac work for closed projects?

Luis Majano

It does, just looking for alternatives. Testing the waters

The mighty Raymond Camden has a project for bug tracking called Lighthouse Pro http://lighthousepro.riaforge.org/

Fogbuz (http://www.fogcreek.com/FogBugz/) is a great pay to play tool.

project tracker is sweet and plugs into SVN as well

Russ Johnson is working on skweegee project , its based on coldbox+transfer.

I've liked Jira, but it's a bit industrial-strength.

Side note: Skweegee is ColdSpring + Transfer + Fusebox, not ColdBox. I'm checking into using to to track Model-Glue issues (I'd like something I can modify more easily than Trac).

+1 for FogBugz!

@Joe: I also heard that Russ was moving Skweegee away from FB and into CB (I have not validated this though and could just be spreading rumors :) ).

Luis, I noticed that Joe Danzigers Project Tracker just went final, so that may be an option. Haven't tried it myself, though. http://projecttracker.riaforge.org/index.cfm

doh! I just notice that Nick already mentioned it...

I think Jira its the best, but it cost, eventum by mysql its a good opensource alternative

I 2nd the nomination for LightHouse Pro by Ray Camden, it does a good job.

@Joe

Im nearing the end of the conversion of Skweegee to ColdBox and away from FB. So it will indeed be ColdBox + ColdSpring + Transfer.
