Github Fever

As you might have noticed from the ColdBox migrations, we are moving to github.  I took the decision to migrate our source code over for several reasons that you git fans might already know.  However, not only did I move because of the version control system, but because it allows for easier community involvement in the projects.  This to me was key.  So instead of tons of headaches with SVN patches, just fork the dang thing, patch it and send me a request.  So hopefully, this will allow for more community involvements.

I am also moving my personal projects to github and you can find them on my personal space.

I usually just use the Eclipse SVN integration using subeclipse and I love it. However, I think it is time to install a native OS SVN tool on my Mac. However, I wanted to find out what is the community's favorite tool for this task.

So, what is your favorite SVN tool for Mac OS X and why?

I was browsing the tigris.org site and came upon this tool: RapidSVN

and it caught my eye because it has a Mac OS version. I just downloaded it and started playing with it. It is basic, but it gets the job done. Please check it out.

This is just a call for comments to see which eclipse SVN plugin people are using and why?

I personally use Subversive because it was the first choice that I found and it has worked great. I am running 1.1.0.M3

It is easy to integrate to repositories, browse, check out, etc.

  • What do you like of Subeclipse?
  • How would they contrast each other?
  • Which one do you prefer?
  • What are the advantages?

If you have any comments, please post them.
