Live Writer is Cool!

Live Writer is Cool!

Since I got my new netbook, I decided to dual boot windows 7 and ubuntu 10.4.  I have been a long time Mac user, but I can finally say that windows 7 is so much better than its predecessors.  It doesn’t mean to say that it has its inevitable quirks and weird's things an operating system of these days should not have anymore, like when I want to be an admin, I WANT TO BE AN ADMIN!!! LET ME DO WHAT I WANT!!!

Anyways, I found that permissions in windows 7 are absolute nonsense and just plain stupid.  Apart from that, I have been trying out the suite of live apps, like, live writer, live photo gallery and live mail.  I can totally say I really like them, they are simple, intuitive and easy to setup.  So maybe the OS is still crappy, but the apps are really good.

Anyways, that is my rant of the night, as I type this up in live writer and really liking it.

Windows permissions works the same as other OS'es, in that a user doesn't have full permission even if they belong to the Administrator group.

So if you really want to be the Admin then just simply log in as the Admin and be done with it, or run the Application as an Admin, in the same way that sudo works for *unix.

Live writer is actually cool, but as every MS product it won't adhere to open standards. So when you try to move around the blog from one host to another without using live writer it will lead a lot of broken images/video links.

It looks nice when it works but when u need to port/recover its a pain.

I've been using LiveWriter for a while now as a blogging tool for Windows, and I quite like it. MS gets a lot of crap, rightfully so, but LiveWriter's one of those apps that kinda "just works". And it's free (go figure).

What do you mean Al?

Yea I agree marc, I have been really liking it on how simple it is and of course free. Don't understand what Al said though?
